Gambling can be a great way to spend time, have fun, but it can also lead to problems. The Volunteer Action Center will give a presentation that covers the definition and history of gambling, the warning signs of a problem, prevention factors and support systems that are available in our area. This informative talk is open to the public and is provided free by the VAC.
#102 Eating Mindfully: One Bite at a Time

This 90-minute workshop presented by Lisa Rigan addresses the rediscovery of a healthy relationship with food. Anyone who has ever had stress or anxiety and turned to food as a distraction, a comfort, or has a love-hate relationship with food would benefit from this class. Each participant will have the opportunity to experience connecting the senses and the body and learn to relate differently to food. You are invited to a joyful, interactive workshop to experience mindful eating.
Tuesday July 10 and Thursday, July 12 6 to 7:30 P.M
Whether you want to learn how to create a Power Point for yourself or be able to help your children with their school work, Lisa Imbrioco will make Power Point user-friendly. Participants will learn to navigate the PowerPoint application, add/delete slides, build a presentation, include backgrounds, transitions, animations, and insert objects. Middle and high school students are welcome to attend and get a head start on next school year. The latest version of MS Power Point and a mouse are recommended for this class.
#104 Desktop Publishing: So Much More than Just Typing!
Thursday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 24 6 to 7:30 P.M.
This class, taught by Lisa Imbrioco, will show you how to use so many more features of your computer. You’ll learn how to create brochures, calendars, greeting cards, posters, or business cards, just to name a few. This class will be an introduction to Publisher, a desktop publishing software that should not be confused with MS PowerPoint. Each participant should have the latest version of MS Publisher and a mouse.

Well, come to The Gathering Place and get the FACTS about composting. Penn State Master Gardeners will share composting information, including “how to…”, “what not to…” and how YOU can compost right in your own backyard. All of your composting questions will be answered!
