#143 The Paradox of Elderhood

Dates: 4 Thursdays, January 2, 16, 30, February 6
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 PM

Dane Hewlett, a Clarks Summit native, will explore society’s need for new attitudes toward our older population, our need for elders & what it takes to be a true elder. Dane will use sections of Come of Age, by Stephen Jenkinson, as a starting point.  Jenkinson’s book discusses “how we relegate senior citizens to the corner of the house while simultaneously heralding them as sage elders simply by virtue of their age.”  The discussion of the lack of true elders will be the basis for this class. All ages are welcome. Please visit our website for more information on Dane and on this upcoming class.

Cost: $25.00       Reservations needed by December 26
