“A Christmas Carol” …Part Three!

For the third year, we return to the Dickens tale of reclamation and opportunity.

But this time, we narrow our focus and look closely at the forces causing the seminal changes: the three Spirits.

In our past discussion, we have explored the social and political conditions of England at the time as well as the developmental changes in the main character, Ebeneezer Scrooge.

This time, we look at the spirits as not only harbingers of Scrooge’s reclamation experience narrative,but also, as psychological drivers for not only characters but readers.

We honor Dickens’ intention to have his work “haunt the reader” with internal reflection by daring to examine whether our personal narratives might benefit from the same kind of visitations as did Ebeneezer!!!
