What will you find at this year’s
Shop Local Holiday Market?

Come down to The Gathering Place and browse for unique gifts. This year we have a lineup of fabulous artists and artisans.

How about a Community Classroom Gift Certificate for a teacher, candy for a coworker, a wire statue for your a family member, or a piece of artwork for a friend?

Enjoy the work of Sean Brady from Wire People Here. Sean creates one-of-a-kind wire sculptures – from a 5 inch golfer to grace a desk,  to a 6 foot rock climber scaling  the side of a building. You can see his work, our very own Eleanor who sits in front of TGP!

Kristina Laurito, one of our favorite instructors and fiber artist extraordinaire, will have a broad array of hand-spun yard and knit and crochet items. Her work will keep you warm this winter.

Cheryl Korb, award-winning folk artist, brings to life both wild and farm animals. Whether it’s small wooden ornaments or large landscapes, her work is magical.

The Appalachia Service Project is an ecumenical mission trip that takes a group of local teens and adult volunteers to Southern Appalachia to help with home repairs in one of the most poverty stricken areas of our nation. The goal of ASP is to provide safer, warmer and dryer homes for families unable to afford these improvements. Their biggest fundraiser is the wonderful chocolate candy. Come down and support them by buying some holiday candy.

Gary Ryman, a local author and craftsman, will offer his hand-crafted ink pens, fountain pens, tree ornaments and lead pencils.  Each is a unique work of art styled from fine wood. pens He will also be featuring his four books:  his autobiographical book Fire Men: Stories from Three Generations of a Firefighting Family Mayday: Fireman Down Fire in his Bones, two novels about the trials of firefighting; and The
Education of Stuart McGrath, a comical account of small city government.
