Meet the Author – Barbara J. Taylor

How often do you have the chance to meet an author of a book that you have read?

On May 16 from 6-8 p.m. local author Barbara J. Taylor discussed her books Sing in the Morning, Cry at Night and All Waiting is Long at The Gathering Place for Community, Arts, and Education at 304 South State Street in Clarks Summit.

Our intimate setting will allow attendees to hear the author discuss her books and to ask questions about her writing process, her research and the content of her books. Her books transport readers to Scranton almost a hundred years ago. You will recognize city’s landmarks, identify people who left their mark on the city, even one person whose family will become nationally known, follow Queenie, Scranton’s first elephant, to the Nay Aug Zoo, and stumble into Scranton’s red light district. Get a glimpse into the issues and events that shaped not only the lives of her characters, but the very fabric of the Electric City. All the events and issues have a local flavor but resonate universally.

This Meet the Author event is an extension of The Gathering Place’s book group that meets every third Tuesday of the month and their April book selection is  Barbara’s most recent book, All Waiting is Long.

Bring your books to have them signed or buy Barbara’s books at the event. This event is free to the public but has limited seating, so register today.  Email your name and the names of people who will be attending with you to GatheringPlaceCS@gmail.com and we will reserve your seat.
