So mark your calendars, call your friends, and join the Songwriters’ Roundtable at               The Gathering Place!

The Songwriters’ Roundtable at The Gathering Place was established by generosity of
The Overlook Estate Foundation, Inc.

The Songwriters’ Roundtable is open to local songwriters of all experience and age levels and will provide a venue for fellow songwriters to express and hone their art and craft among peers. Here’s your opportunity to find practical ideas, encouragement, and the opportunity to make invaluable connections with like-minded people creating community for musicians.

What would I do at The Songwriters’ Roundtable?

Sign up to share an original song of your choosing. Meetings could include a brief (c.30 min) presentation on a certain songwriting topic or a song analysis. You will be given the opportunity to perform or play a recording of your original song, after which the group would provide constructive feedback. At times you may be asked to pair up with another songwriter to either collaborate or share songs in a small group setting. The Songwriters’ Roundtable will provide opportunities for speakers to attend and discuss various aspects of the songwriting process. This forum will evolve with the needs of the group.

Here’s a little information about Tim.

Timothy Zieger is an area musician, teacher, and songwriter. He received his formal music training through years of private trumpet instruction and the completion of a Bachelor’s of Sacred Music with  Gordon Mason, D. Mus. (BBC/CSU, 2008). He has been an amateur songwriter for nearly as long as he has been a formal student of music, and has been a featured performer in many local venues including WBRE’s PA Live!, the Old Lynn Concert series, Tunkhannock’s River Day, and the Dietrich Theater’s annual Gathering of Singer/Songwriters. His first original album, entitled North Light, was independently released in August of 2017.

Tim can also be found teaching private lessons and children’s music classes, accompanying for his church, and providing music for a variety of special events. While completing an M.A. from Biola University Tim spent five years as a middle school and high school teacher at Abington Christian Academy in Clarks Summit, specializing in formal and informal logic, and classical literature and philosophy. In his spare time, Tim enjoys biking, gardening, reading, adventuring with his family, and advocating for regional arts as a board member of Kitson Arts Alliance.
